Edward Garcia, an Ecuadorian American, has spent his life working hard to encourage the development of Hispanic economic success in the tristate area. Recognizing this hard work, he was recently named the Hispanic American Association of New Jersey’s Hispanic Entrepreneur of the Year.
Hispanic American immigrants face significant challenges when it comes to becoming successful business men and women even in today’s more progressive environment. In the tristate area, Edward Garcia has stood for decades as an example of a driven, ethical business leader who has given it his all to help develop both the local Hispanic business community and the people participating in it, and cross cultural ties between his native Ecuador and the United States. This hard ongoing work has recently been recognized by the Hispanic American Association of New Jersey who presented Garcia with their very prestigious Hispanic Entrepreneur of the Year Award at a special ceremony held on June 3rd, 2016. “I’m very proud and grateful for this recognition,” commented Garcia. “I will continue to work hard in these areas and to build my own business, which does its best to serve our community in a positive and constructive way.” Garcia is the founder of the first Chamber of Ecuadorian Commerce of New Jersey and New York, known as CAMCOMEC and also the Founder and CEO of E&Q Tax Accounting & Business Solutions, a one stop shop tax and small business solutions company. Both CAMCOMEC and E&Q Tax Accounting & Business Solutions work hard every day to encourage the development of entrepreneurs in the local Hispanic community, along with providing the community with ethical services that can be relied on. In the past Garcia has been recognized for his great service many times by the state, federal and even international organizations. A highlight was his work through CAMCOMEC to assist the United States negotiate free trade agreements with both Central American and the Dominican Republic. Their role as observers culminated in CAMCOMEC being the only commercial organization for the Andean countries that was invited to the celebration of the signature of DR-CAFTA (Free Trade Agreement of the United States with Central America and the Dominican Republic), in the Hall of Honor of the Organization of American States (OAS). Garcia has also spent 20 years as an accountant and business owner serving the local community with accounting and business solutions. According to Garcia, what brings him the most sense of accomplishment is how well his tax business is spoken of in the Hispanic community. A recent client remarked, “I have been doing my taxes with E&Q Tax for years. Everyone is the office is very professional and always ready to help. Quick response to emails and questions. Eddie the owner is always available when you call even during busy tax season. I would never take my business anywhere else.”
